Dental Phobia

     It is estimated that as many as 75% of adults experience some degree of dental fear.  Among them about 10 percent are considered to experience dental phobia; that is, they are so fearful of receiving dental treatment that they avoid dental care at all costs. Many dentally fearful people will only seek dental care when they have a dental emergency, such as a toothache or dental abscess. People who are very fearful of dental care often experience a "cycle of avoidance," in which they avoid dental care due to fear until they experience a dental emergency requiring more invasive treatment, which can reinforce their fear of dentistry.

       We are very patient friendly, and we listen to your concerns so that we can adjust how we service you to avoid any unpleasant experience.  We do thorough analysis of your dental problems, and select the most non-invasive approach to provide the much needed treatment.  Depending on what causes your fear, chances are we can help you overcome your fear.

• Fear of invasive procedure? We have been providing many atrautic and non-invasive treatment modalities to avoid traditionally more invasive dental procedures.  For example, we provide  atraumatic tooth extraction, Invisalign for orthodontic treatment, Perio Tray for gum disease, Pinhole procedure for receding gums and Lumineers for esthetic enhancement.
• You have total control of your treatment.  We do thorough examination of your dental problems, and develop a treatment plan (or plans) with your participation.  You will know rationale behind each and every treatment recommendation.   
• If you are fearful of gagging, we have digital impression system to scan your teeth without the use of messy impression material. During treatment, our experienced assistants will remove any water from your mouth, and you can stop procedure at anytime with a hand signal.
• If you are fearful of radiation, we have digital X-ray systems so that the radiation is reduced to minimum.  We don't take unnecessary X-rays.  We use thyroid shield and new generation of protective aprons to protect patients.  If you are pregnant, please inform us so we will avoid taking X-rays during pregnancy.
• If you are fearful of dental injection, we have the Wand computer controlled anesthetic delivery system for pain free anesthesia.  We have Dentalvibe to relax the muscle so injection can be easy. 
• We also have nitrous oxide gas for anxious patients.  If you need dental surgery, and you cannot overcome the initial fear, we partnered with an anesthesiologist to provide general anesthesia or sedation, so that you don’t have to remember anything.
